Howard Card Safety Award Winners

The safety award is named after Howard Card, a 23-year veteran of the New Jersey Highway Patrol. Mr. Card was responsible for the regulatory oversight of the propane industry, including enforcement of safety codes. The award was established in his Howard Card Safety Award Winnerhonor after his death in May, 1993. His wife, Doris, and daughter, Donna, accepted the first award on his behalf.

Thomas P. McIntyre and Stephen M. McIntyre (center) received the 2008 Howard Card Safety Award from Robert B. Nicholson (right) and Robert B. Nicholson, III (left) during the June 5th annual meeting in Vernon. Both recipients received the award for "Over 20 years of leadership in fire safety, training, education and emergency response."
